The latest Maths project the ISN Middle School Learning Partners have completed involved both MS1 and MS2…they built their own city! First, they got to choose what type of building to construct, in either the residential, commercial or industrial district of town. From there, they decided what they wanted to build and drew the front, back, and aerial views of their building, and used ratio and proportion to build a final model. The tricky part is they could only use nets to make their buildings. Finally, they calculated the surface areas and volumes.

The buildings they constructed involved all kinds of creative ideas, including a candy factory and a shop, libraries, mansions, a movie theatre, banks, and many others. Here is a glimpse of some of the amazing projects they came up with!
